Tip on Calling Around for Inflatables or Renting Anything for That Matter

I’ll cut to the chase, this is the optimal order to have a conversation with any business you’d like to rent from: Start with WHEN you need it, e.g. “Do you all have anything still available for this Saturday?”, as a subset what time do you need it by? If the item requires delivery (our business does): WHERE is it going? (this becomes very important on last minute bookings, not so much if it’s for 6 months in advance) Even if we still have something available if one booking i

    Bounce House Prices Going Up

Effective today we've adjusted all rental prices. I think we are still very competitive and it wouldn't shock me one bit if our competitors follow suit with price increases. Why are we raising prices? Insurance coverage for inflatables is skyrocketing in price, it's gone up modestly every year since we started (couple hundred dollars per year) with no claims and about the same exposure, and this year it jumped 59% higher over last years cost. Since we started 4 years ago it'

Reservation Deposits and Why We Require Them

As a bounce house / inflatable rental company, we require a $25 good faith deposit to make reservations, no matter how much your total is. Our goal was to price it affordable enough for most anyone, but expensive enough to make someone think twice about doing last minute cancellations. When looking at competitors, many places will charge a $50 deposit; some require 50% of the total, so we feel $25 is very reasonable. Why do rental companies require deposits? We've waived the

Differences with Wet and Dry Rentals

With temperatures heating up water inflatables are a great way to cool off! There is no question they are great fun, but adding water in the mix with inflatables adds a bit more challenges for safety, as well as additional considerations for setting up, taking it down, and cleaning/drying. With all that in mind we charge a little extra to rent units wet (~$50). The added safety issue is when vinyl is wet it gets slippery increasing risks of accidents and injuries. For wet ren

The Great Generator Debate (Why We Don't Have/Provide Them)

Update: On year 7 the below still holds true. We've started our 3rd year running in the Bounce House Rental business, and truth be told I can count on one hand (with a couple fingers to spare) how many times a generator would have truly been needed. That's not to say we will never get one, but at this point demand just isn't there to have to buy, store, and maintain a generator - not to mention the other things that go with it like providing fuel, additional liability, and a

I'll step you through it, from the basics to the more challenging bookings it's all in here! Good to know: 1) DO NOT hit the back button, it will take you back to our

Origin Story / How Our Smaller Bounce Houses Compare to Others (Larger Commercial and Residential)

This business all started when my wife wanted a bounce house for our daughters 2nd birthday, after a couple calls we were shocked by the prices quoted, we didn't need anything big or fancy considering all the kids coming would be at most in elementary school, nor did we need one all day long the party was only for a couple hours. After discussion, research, and planning we decided to buy a couple smaller commercial units to fill this niche - smaller units cost less, which all

Will the Bounce House Blow Away?

I've had a couple customers recently ask me that question - it's a valid question/concern - it's been highlighted by media (i.e. like the one above) raising fears about bounce house safety, but when following simple safety rules the risk of your bounce house flying away is almost non-existent. Let’s look at the case above for a minute (mind you this is hindsight 20-20 review of the incident): "Rev. Ron Perkins said he watched a rider on a personal watercraft running in and ou
